About Viviane + VIVE
Hello! My name is Viviane. I grew up in Quincy, have 2 dogs of my own, and have been taking care of other pets since 2018. I graduated in 2020 with a BS in Medical and Molecular Biology from Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
While I was pursuing my studies in 2018, I wanted to gain pet experience so I started volunteering at the Quincy Animal Shelter as a pet care assistant. I enjoyed this role and wanted more opportunities to help my community so I started volunteering at the Animal Rescue League in Dedham as well. I was provided training on pet behavior, and started fostering pets when needed.
I decided to take a part-time job as a cat sitter for City Kitty Boston in 2019. Working with an incredible and supportive small business owner and mentor, I’ve gained knowledge beyond the basic skills of taking care of cats.
In 2020, I started my job with VCA Rotherwood Animal Hospital as a client care representative. Within a year, I got promoted to the client care supervisor and then office manager. From this role, I’ve learned how to ask the right questions to evaluate how a pets condition is, learned more about the different types of medications needed for pet’s with certain conditions, general customer service skills, the financial side of the business, how to lead and train others, and be the point of contact for any questions.
At the same time, I was still working with City Kitty and worked through Rover and Care.com to build my own clientele. My first pet, Bruno, suffered symptoms of liver disease mid-2022, so I took some time off from working at the hospital. I needed to still maintain my pet business so I continued to do that as needed. Bruno passed March 2023 at home with family and he will forever be missed.
In early 2023, I decided to make it official and start my own pet care business as I truly enjoy taking care of furry animals and working on my own schedule so I can be home more and take care of my own furry babies. I still work as needed at VCA and City Kitty as those are where my roots stemmed from, and I truly enjoy my work.
At VIVE, I am licensed, bonded, and insured so that you can feel safe knowing your pets are in my care. I am also affiliated with Pet Sitters International, which means I am kept up-to-date about industry standards and changes, adhere to a code of ethics regarding professional and reliable pet care, and have a large network of industry professionals to help me with all the aspects of owning a pet sitting business.
In the summer of 2023, I was offered to be City Kitty Boston’s new owner. This was an absolute honor to be taking over a company whose values align with VIVE’s core values. I am grateful to be taking care of clients that I have known for years and the chance to create a relationship with clients that I have not had the chance to meet. As of November 1, 2023, I will be the company’s new owner and starting January 1, 2024, I plan to merge the two companies to ensure that my team and I have the chance to provide the best care possible under one name. This is where I am currently at in my life and I am truly excited to start this new chapter with old and new furry friends at VIVE :)
